MMP FAMILY : LESSON 1 LISTENING SESSION

                                            LESSON 1 ALBUM LISTENING SESSION

I recently attended MMP FAMILY's listening session for their upcoming album LESSON 1 which should be out by the time you finish reading this. |*if its not out, then read this again* =)

MMP FAMILY On That Black Tip :)

LESSON 1 is the trio's latest offering which comprosises of 15 tracks. The album fuses different elements of sound as it has hip hop, 'splash' and an RnB feel to it which goes on to show that, well, as they put it 'You can give us anything'. This means that they do not limit themselves when it comes to making music, you give them any beat, they will make it work as they want to cater for everyone.Whether its the suburbia people or the kasi folks, everyone can relate.LESSON 1  is about their life experiences which they encountered since the release of their 1st album 'Mo Spacing' which earned them a BOMU Best Kwaito Award. Having listened to the album i can say it was well put together and clearly there was a lot of dedication into ensuring that their craft is received with both hands. The group worked with producers: Pres Beatz, Berry Bone, Suffocate, Kunda and BK Proctor. As everyone is still going crazy about Lebala Ka Nna and Problem Child, i must advise that they should be ready for some feel good music, crazy hooks and rather explicit content which is metaphorically put. 'Re Easy' is certainly going to be a banger *trust me* Tracks like 'Pina Ke Eo' will get you bumping your head and i know this one will rock hard in taverns. "Shine 4Eva'' and "Lorato'' talk about love and relationships, which is rather unexpected  and interesting  because its not everyday that " manyora/mapantsola'' express their love.*No offense* As for ''Makhenekhe''...Well...Let me just stop here!!I can go on and on about every song but you will have to get an album so that you can relate..

MMP FAMILY: LESSON 1

NB: THIS IS NOT A FASHION POST (IT WILL BE FASHIONABLE AT SOME POINT)

M.O.D//Ples J//Mzico (MMP FAMILY) Experiencing a Mokoro ride in Maun

I have to admit that when MMP Family made their mark in the music industry, I wasn’t much of a follower because I didn’t know them. Even though they had a song “Tlala ka lepantsola”  which wasn’t  that bad, I wasn’t hooked. For some reason I thought they were fly by night artists who were just looking for fame and maybe hoping to score some females while at it.. Hey…This still happens in the 21st century. Then came the collaboration with the already established  artist Mosako on “Wena o mang?’and I believe that’s when most people started taking notice. Who are these guys? Slowly and slowly they garnered a following and “Tlala ka lepantsola” somehow made a way back into our hearts. The sound was Kwaito and surely they were bringing it back. The year 2012 saw them scoop the  “Best Kwaito”award  at the BOMU Music Awards for their album “Mo Spacing” which I haven’t heard. Its there but I only know one or two songs from it. Now  the year is 2014 and they are back with their second album #LESSON1

Performing In Maun: September 2014

So I had a chance to hear what the three young men have been working on and I have to admit that #Lesson1 is going to be a hell of an album. The album is a fusion of kwaito with some elements of hip hop and splash. This goes on to show that this guys can be given any beat and they will deliver. The highly anticipated album is due for release end of September and features hits like 'Problem Child' and 'Lebala Ka Nna' which are receiving massive airplay in our local radio stations.. 2014 sure looks like a good year for this childhood friends who are determined to make a mark. We cant wait for our first lesson..

Out at the SOS Children's Village.

CHECK MATE

I thrifted this Ralph Lauren shirt about two years ago. Haven't had anything to wear it but this random look I put up last minute turned out quiet interesting. Had to wake my niece up to snap a couple of shots. Respect the shooter!!
